Mirjana Djordjevic - Thaler
Born 1967 in Belgrade.
Graduated in 1994 at The Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade (with professor Moma Antonovic).
M.A. in 1999 at The Academy of Fine Arts Belgrade.
From 1994-1997 on postgraduate studies at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf (with professor Klaus Rinke).
Lives and works in Vienna and Belgrade.
Since 1989 she has exhibited at numerous one-man and group shows in Serbia and abroad. Participated at ‘The Coexistence of Art', Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Vienna, - Venice Biennial 1993.
Awarded at: The 16th biennial of The Young Yugoslav Artists in Rijeka in 1991; at the Euro-Asian Art Biennial in Ankara in 1992 - First Gold Medal - Ataturk Art Prize; at The First Yugoslav Biennial of Young Artists in Vrsac, 1994; at The Sculpture Triennial in Pancevo in 1996. Together with Wolfgang Thaler got The Golden Lion Award for Women Know Why, Fluc, Praterstern, Vienna, 2003.
In Vienna/Austria she has exhibited/collaborated with the following institutions: KulturKontakt Austria, Kunsthalle Wien, Museums Quartier, museum in progress, Der Standard, Infoscreen, Secession, Kunstbuero Gallery, Kunstlerhaus Wien – Passagen Gallery, Forum Stadtpark Graz, The Austrian Cultural Forum Tokyo, Art&Idea.
